Lost & Fawned Bridal Party

Earlier this summer I worked with a bride named Jessica to create some custom Jill Earrings for her bridesmaids. I loved the marbleized pink Czech glass beads we used and I was SO excited when she sent me some photos this morning! Jessica looks just gorgeous and the earrings looked perfect with her bridesmaid gowns and the pink roses. Congratulations to Jessica and her husband!

Her photographer was Mike Sidney out of Maui. Check out his website for more beautiful Hawaiian weddings.

Coming to Lost & Fawned this winter - Clutches

Just wanted to you give you all a heads up! Coming this winter I will be adding framed clutches and other bags and sewn goods to the Lost & Fawned line! I'm so excited to finally put my love of fabric to good use! I've been stocking up on beautiful Heather Ross, Amy Butler, Joel Dewberry and vintage fabrics and perfecting my technique.

Ideally I would like to have them out by Christmas, but I think it's more likely you will start seeing them around the new year. I am so very excited to share this news with you all!

Holiday Wishes 2009: Chunky Handknit Accessories

Another thing I'm loving this year are really chunky hand knit hats, gloves, arm warmers and scarves, especially in beautiful colors. I've had my eye on this gorgeous yellow hat by iLE AiYE for months! The color is just divine and at only $25 how can you go wrong? Here are some more chunky knits for the looming winter chill...

Things I'm Loving - Vintage Brass Cuffs

I'm recently fallen in love with vintage brass cuffs and have started stocking them in Lost & Fawned to share the love. I've never really been able to wear cuffs since I have petite wrists and most in stores are too big for me. But I am finding that the vintage cuffs come in slightly smaller sizes so I can wear them without worrying that the overwhelm my hand.

I currently have two styles in stock, the Ines and Aimee. I'm on the hunt for more but I just wanted to share these beauties with all of you. My new favorite accessory for this autumn and winter for sure. Happy shopping everyone!

Shoes! Beautiful Shoes!

After weeks of searching I found them. The hunt for the perfect wedding shoe is over. I found my beautiful seafoam Seychelles on shoefly.com, the website of a shoe boutique in Seattle and know as soon as I saw them they would be perfect. I have difficult feet so I was nervous about the fit but as soon as I put them on (and they fit like a dream) I was a Seychelles shoe girl for life.

I also bought a pair of mint linen flats from urbanoutfitters.com for $30 as a ceremony shoe (if you think I'm going to try and navigate that staircase in heels you are greatly mistaken) and as a back up in case this pair makes my dress too short in the front. Both pairs are beautiful and something I can't wait to wear after the wedding. I am hooked on Seychelles. I love their vintage styling, comfort and coloring.

Just wanted to let you know Lost & Fawned has a new collection of cabochon stud earrings. They are perfectly lovely for summer and are incredibly affordable (all under $10!). Lost of colors and shapes with more to comes soon (I just got some lovely glass cabochon flowers!). Could be a lovely bridesmaid gift or earrings for a casual bride.

Also, thanks for the front page love! The treasury I put together was featured on the front page of etsy around mid-day on Friday! What a lovely surprise! I only hope it brought some business in for the fabulous artists in the collection. Now more than ever it's a good time to help support the handmade community. For many of us it is our livelihood these days (especially for recent grads like myself who can't find jobs in our selected fields).

Have a lovely weekend everyone! Give your dad a hug!

Yunisacs - Clearance Sale!

There are so many gorgeous clutches on etsy, but in many cases they are priced so high most of use can't afford to spurge on an accessory like this. While doing some digging during the yart sale I came across Yunisac's shop and couldn't believe the incredible sale on these gorgeous clutches! I immediately ordered the one pictured above (I'm thinking I'll use it at my wedding shower or rehearsal dinner, maybe even the wedding day) for only $31 (as compaired to similar ones I've seen for over $70)!. There are PLENTY more gorgeous clutches that would be a great way to add some color and pattern to a bridal ensemble.

Interview with Jo of La Petite Chaumiere

As promised, here is an interview with Jo, the artist behind La Petite Chaumiere, a new and promised etsy shop.

How long have you been crafting?
Since the womb! haha...really though, I've always made some sort of crafts or artistic expression. When I was 3 I started drawing on my bedroom wall with crayons and my parents decided to just allow it so I'd have a creative outlet. I started making a scrapbook in middle school and still have the same one that is now about 200 pages long. And then on my 16th birthday my parents got me a sewing machine so my mom could teach me how to sew.
Where do you get the inspiration for your pieces?
I think pretty much anything that is from the past. Right now my favorite is Victorian era.

Why do you love working with brides?
Because that's when I get to make my most dramatic pieces! I have to tame my ideas down for everyday wear hair pieces. I love it when brides are gutsy enough to push the envelope with their wedding attire! My belief is you only get 1 day, so you might as well go all out!

Who are some of your favorite artists on etsy?
I love Bonzie of course! Also, this shop by Parsi who makes bouquets completely out of porcelain that look 100% real! There are a ton of pottery shops I love too, but there's just too many to name.

You are getting married soon, what is the overall feeling or themes of your wedding?
I think vintage and dramatic, and just a tad bit gaudy :-)

Here is the beautiful inspiration board for her own upcoming wedding. She informed me she plans on wearing the Victoria in Blue piece pictured above! Good luck with your planning Jo! I'm sure it will be beautiful!

Check out her shop and new blog for more gorgeous pieces and info. Thanks for sharing Jo!

My Accessories

Our invitations aren't QUITE ready, but should be by early next week. So instead here are my other accessories (other than my earrings and bracelet which I've already posted).

Back when I purchased my Myra Kim Twigs and Honey pieces, they weren't in quite as high demand as they are today and I'm VERY grateful I purchased them when I did and as three separate pieces as I wasn't sure exactly what I planned to do with my hair. I'll be wearing two of these pieces tucked into the back of my hair so they are very subtle and saving one for my second reception.

My shoes were purchased a few months after I selected my dress and will look so lovely peeking out of the bottom on the beach. I knew I wanted something flat (I have enough trouble not falling on my face on a daily bases, let alone on a beach with heals) and gold and when I saw these on Zappos.com I snapped them up right away. They are by Poetic License.Hopefully I will have more to show you later this afternoon. All my other accessories are under wraps until the big day (so Jared can't see them). If something comes in the mail today though I'll have to share this afternoon. We'll see!

Happy friday!
Lindsey Lu

Custom Bouquet Lockets - Lost & Fawned has returned

Time for a shameless plug... Since school is out, I've started selling on etsy again, which means my custom bouquet lockets are also back in stock! I started making these last summer and they became so popular I had to stop making them during the school year in order to make time for school work.

These lockets are lovely made to your specifications and feature your choice of charms and crystal colors so it suits the couple and wedding perfectly. They are secured to either a wire or now a ribbon which is wrapped around the handle of the bouquet. Brides have used it to hold a photo of a loved one who cannot be there, their parent's wedding photos, a wedding monogram or a picture of their groom.

I have only one (maybe two) of the beautiful white gold plated lockets left but have many of the gorgeous antique brass lockets. If you are interested, please visit my etsy store Lost & Fawned for more information and pricing. I would love to do one of these for you or a soon to be bride.

I also do bridesmaid and bridal jewelry. I have lots of options available and love to work with brides to come up with something special just for them. I have a very wide range of prices and discount for bulk orders. Below are my Jill Earrings that come in just about any color imaginable. Visit my store for more options and pricing.

So there we have it. Back to your regular scheduled wedding planning! Have a fantastic summer day guys! And happy planning!

Bonzie Bridal on Etsy

I've been eying Bonzie's etsy store for ages now and I just adore their deconstructed Victorian aesthetic. I was so pleased to see them as the recent featured artist and I just had to finally do a feature post. Ever since I saw the Fallen Angel Bolero (seen above) I have be DYING to see a real bride in it. I think it is so soft an dramatic and would give the right dress a very special and couture edge. And for a handmade garment, made to fit you that is this high fashion the prices are outstanding. I love all the ruffles, lace, pleated details and tulle. Each piece is so special and gorgeous and each has it's own character and story.

But of course they are not just for brides (And who says a bride has to wear white anyway?). Their colored pieces would be to die for on any occasion. They have some gorgeous jewel-toned boleros, scarfs, corsets and skirts that I would kill for.

Check out their blog, flickr page and shop for more lovely pieces.

Lots of Love,
Lindsey Lu
