More pieces from Minna Designs

Just a few more lovely pieces from Minna at Minna Designs. Remember to take a look at her website and consider her discount (details in my post from earlier today). I just love the lace and rhinestone details on these. She incorporates them so beautifully into the pieces.

Thanks again Minna! Good luck with the new endeavour!

Design Discount from Minna Designs

Hi everyone!
Thanks for bearing with me as my hiatus continues. My final is tomorrow and I'm very pumped about how it turned out. I'm a little nervous since my final is right around the corner.

ANYWAYS, I wanted to stop in and let you guys know about a new and upcoming stationary who was kind enough to write me with an offer for my Lu lu Belle readers! Minna has a background in fine arts and graphic design and is a recent bride herself (so she totally understands where we're coming from!).

She not only creates custom invitations but also monograms, save-the-dates, programs, menus, table numbers, escort cards, thank you notes and favor accessories. So she is a total one stop shop for your wedding print item needs! Her work is so beautiful and she has a wonderful range from classic to modern and whimsical. I also love her use of multi-media and dimension.

Minna has been kind enough to extend a deal to us. Mention my blog when you inquire and she has offered to take 20% off her design fee through the end of December! So check out her website and drop her a line if your interested. She is incredibly sweet.

Check back later today for more beautiful images of her stationary.

Little Hiatus - Finals

Hi all,

You may have noticed my posts have been a bit more sparse recently. Oh yes... it's that time of year... finals. *le sigh* I'm working on my final project for school this week and also getting ready for the bi-annual student art sale (lots of crafting to do) so I'll be pretty busy for the next week. I'm going to try and get some posts in, but no promises.

On a side note, check back soon for some real weddings as well as some photos of some of my own crafting featured in real weddings and a shop update in my etsy shop (after the student art sale I'll be putting any extra pieces up for sale on etsy, lots of great stuff for your bridesmaids) as well as some other bits and pieces I've been working on for the blog.

Also, if you have any suggestions or are interested in guest blogging, feel free to send me an email at lellibee.1@go.ccad.edu and make sure to put "Lu lu belle" in the subject line.

Don't forget! If you are starting your Christmas shopping, remember you can get free shipping at either of Georgia's etsy shops, Little Sparrow's Nest or Atelier Sakura by dropping the blogs name to her. I know I'm getting a garter made by her (photos of that in the near future too!).

Thanks again guys!
Lindsey Lu

Picture Perfect Moment Nine: It's All in the Details

I can't stress enough how important it is to request to your photographer to get photos of all the little details. Someday you'll love to show your daughter (or son) all the little specifics of your wedding day, what color the flowers were, the food, the centerpieces, etc. This lovely photo is from Red Fish Blue Fish Photography in Seattle. I love how the signature drink matches the flowers. I'm a sucker for details.

Picture Perfect Moment Eight: It's Our Party

Don't forget to get a good candid photograph of just your wedding party without the bride and groom. It can turn out to be a really great photo and in all reality, when the bride and groom are in a photo all focus immediately goes to them. So get one of all of them together before the day is out. This one is from Red Fish Blue Fish Photography in Seattle.

Vintage Cake Toppers

(Photo from Stacey Hess's photostream.)

I have always loved the idea of using an old family cake topper. They have such a nostalgic quality and they can be a great way to incorporate some family history into your reception. If you don't have a beautiful old heirloom topper in your family, there are plenty on etsy.com that are beautiful and well priced.

This one is from My Fred & Ginger on etsy. I love this one. If anyone out there is having a red and gold wedding I thin you've found your topper.

I think this quirky little piece from Babette Bistro is so fun. It's from the 1920's and I'm sure there is a great history in it. I love the little groom with his glasses.

I think these from Ktrever are so darling. They are ceramic and the little blue touches are so beautiful.

It's a new day...

History was indeed made last night. I'm not going to say much because I know my readers are mixed on the issues. But I will say lets all try and come together as one country.

"The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America – I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you – we as a people will get there. " -President Elect Barack Obama, November 4th, 2008

Picture Perfect Moment Seven: In Sequence

Here is another set of shots from Brighten Photography in Seattle. I think a sequence of shots can be so powerful. In this case it's so fun and really shows off their personalities. But it can also be really romantic to have a sequence of a groom seeing his wife to be for the first time on their wedding day.

Happy Election Day

No matter what your stance is, I hope you make it to the voting booth today. This election is so important, not only for this generation but for our future children. Get out there and vote!

On a wedding note, how adorable would a set of these donkeys be as a cake topper for the uber-liberal? Thanks to Bunny With a Tool Belt for sending me this cutie!

More Jewelry from Jinyana

I just can't get over how beautiful Coral's jewelry is. The earrings above are next on my list to buy. Everything is so carefully designed and constructed. She really knows how to use filigree, pearls and crystals without making them look garish or overdone (as so many bridal jewelry designers do). She has a variety of price points covered and appears to do custom work as well. Check out her shop on etsy to fond more of her lovely pieces (including my earrings which also come in silver).

Thanks again Coral!

My Earrings - From Jinyana

If you remember from my post a couple of weeks ago, my mom purchased my jewelry as an early shower gift and gave me free reign to choose as I like (with her help of course). Naturally I wanted to support the handmade community so I turned to etsy. I posted my bracelet last week and now after two weeks of anticipation (shipping from Australia takes some time) my earrings have arrived.

I adore them. I found them in Jinyana's shop are some of the best I've seen in handmade jewelry. These will on etsy and when I saw them I litter ally gasped. I had never seen that filigree style before and the pearls and crystals were exactly what I was looking for. They are dramatic but still delicate and very vintage inspired. Plus the coordinate beautifully with my bracelet (see below) without looking like a made-to-match set. They were a little on the pricey side, BUT they are worth every penny as the materials and craftsmanshiptruly last forever and will become a beautiful piece I can hand down to a daughter.

Thanks you so much Mom.

Check back later for more beautiful jewelry from Jinyana. Thanks again Coral. They are lovely!
