Save the Date or Invitation Telegram

I ran across this idea recently on a blog and LOVED it! Looking for something different to do for your invitations or save the dates that require very little effort from you with a maximum impact? Telegram Stop has now made it easy to send old fashioned telegrams in bulk! you can download their excel document, fill it out with the names and addresses on your guest list and send out beautiful telegrams with a killer envelope for $3.75 a person (bulk pricing). Great idea for a budget invitation, plus they practically do all the work for you (no addressing envelopes, putting invitations together, printing or postage stamps required).

Love this idea!

Envelope Liners - Easy way to spruce up your invitations

Looking for a way to take your invites to the next level cheaply and easily? Envelope liners are my newest obsession. They are cheap and relatively easy for a DIY beginner or veteran. It is a little time consuming, but not too bad. It's something you can do in front of the TV. Forgive me, these photos were taken before they were glued in.

We recived our beautiful goccoed invitations from Ugly Kitty last week and we adore them, but I just wanted to do something extra to make them a little more special. I remembered a tutorial I saw on Annie Get Your Glue Gun some months ago and headed to the book sale at our local library. As if it was fate, we found an old bird guide from 1918 that was oversized and falling apart. We bought it for $1 and I took it home and disected it. I followed Annie's tutorial to creat the template and after that it was smooth sailing. Added a little bakers twine in brown to hold all the bits and pieces together as well (super cheap, 10 yards for $7 on etsy).

Hope that helps some of you a little. I'm so excited to send out our invites. We couldn't be more pleased with how they turned out. I hope our guests appriciate the love that went into them. Have a lovely day everyone! Happy planning!

Great Shower Gift by Silhouette Blue

I found this adorable print when I was searching through invitations ages ago. I went back and looked around and found that they make it as a frameable print. It's customizable so it would be the most adorable gift from soon-to-be-weds or newly weds. The closet you can come to carving their name on a tree without hurting a tree. It also comes as an invitation suite or custom thank you notes. Find it here at Silhouette Blue's etsy store.

Our Save-the-Date Cards

Since we are finally ordering our save-the-date cards tonight, I figured I would share them with you. A good friend of mine from school who is a fantastic graphic designer designed these for us very early in the planning process and I just love them. Korey is so masterful with typography and he really captured the flavor of the pacific northwest. I love how understated the front is and how well organized the information on the back is (these will be mailed in an envelope). Korey's website is listing in my links if anyone is looking for a graphic designer. He does fabulous work and is wonderful to work with.

On a side note, another friend of mine (the fashion major who made me that deer) needs to design and construct a dress for class so I am on the hunt for inspiration for a dress for my rehearsal dinner. I'm not sure quite what I'm looking for, but I'm very open to suggestions. I would like it to be something I can dress up or dress down once we decide what we're doing for our rehearsal dinner. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

More pieces from Minna Designs

Just a few more lovely pieces from Minna at Minna Designs. Remember to take a look at her website and consider her discount (details in my post from earlier today). I just love the lace and rhinestone details on these. She incorporates them so beautifully into the pieces.

Thanks again Minna! Good luck with the new endeavour!

Design Discount from Minna Designs

Hi everyone!
Thanks for bearing with me as my hiatus continues. My final is tomorrow and I'm very pumped about how it turned out. I'm a little nervous since my final is right around the corner.

ANYWAYS, I wanted to stop in and let you guys know about a new and upcoming stationary who was kind enough to write me with an offer for my Lu lu Belle readers! Minna has a background in fine arts and graphic design and is a recent bride herself (so she totally understands where we're coming from!).

She not only creates custom invitations but also monograms, save-the-dates, programs, menus, table numbers, escort cards, thank you notes and favor accessories. So she is a total one stop shop for your wedding print item needs! Her work is so beautiful and she has a wonderful range from classic to modern and whimsical. I also love her use of multi-media and dimension.

Minna has been kind enough to extend a deal to us. Mention my blog when you inquire and she has offered to take 20% off her design fee through the end of December! So check out her website and drop her a line if your interested. She is incredibly sweet.

Check back later today for more beautiful images of her stationary.

Our Invitation Preview.

As you may or may not know, we've been working with the wonderfully talented Renee over at Uglykitty who I featured yesterday, for our invitation set. She sent us the most recent proof set and with every revision we fall more and more in love with these. Here is a little preview. It's just the RSVP envelope, but how adorable is it? I think it really sets the tone for our wedding. Can't wait to see the final product. These have been a long time in the making and she has been so patient with me.

Hammerpress Invitations

Wow. If I had all the money in the world these would be mine. After a good friend of mine directed me to their site I've been madly in love with the wedding invitations at Hammerpress. Naturally they only do custom work and every set on their website is so different you can tell they really reflect the couple's personal style and relationship. I love the set above on the left. I even used it as the inspiration for the board I created for Style Me Pretty's contest this summer.
