Etsy Art Sinpired Pallet Four - Rich Vintage Memories

This next pallet is inspired by this cross processed polaroid photo by Lindsey Shoemaker. I love the rich colors that are produced by the developing process and thought it would make a LOVELY in take on a retro/vintage pallet for a wedding. It's so rich but still soft and aged. I think this would be lovely paired with vintage ruffles and antiques from the 30's and 40's.

This lovely ruffled number from J Crew would be darling. The organza tiers are given a raw treatment at the edges to give it a perfectly tattered charm.
J Crew Fontaine Dress for $1,500.

Silk and ruffles are perfect for this feminine vintage pallet. And this number it perfectly re-wearable.
Cabbage Hill Dress in green from Anthropologie for $248.

Rich purple leaves, antique green and blue colored hydrangea and creamy whites with a velvet ribbon secured with an antique brooch.
Bouquet by Saipua. Contact for pricing and availability.

An heirloom cake topper from a family member would really be a special and beautiful addition to the reception with this pallet. Or buy one and make it a new tradition.

Etsy Art Inspired Pallet Three - Warm n' Crafty

Back to my etsy art inspired pallets (thanks for the comments, I love doing these too). This one is inspired by this adorable print by Lab Partners. Crisp white paired with spicy mustard, rust and bubble gum pink makes are great color combo for a crafty summer or fall wedding. For my picks for this pallet I will be selecting only handmade items via etsy.

This handmade mustard yellow dress by Kimenna would be so darling for your bridesmaids. And at $98 it's truly a steal.

For the bride, a handmade clutch from Red Ruby Rose. I love this one, covered in pink peonies and lined in red silk.
From Red Ruby Rose for $75.

My favorites, a custom cake topper from Goose Grease. Contemporary crafty goodness.
From Goose Grease for $50.

Headband by Myra Kim for the crafty bride or bridesmaid.
From Twigs & Honey, custom priced.

Etsy Art Inspired Pallet Two - Summer in the City

This pallet is inspired buy this print by Nate Duval on etsy of a Brooklyn cityscape. I love the warm chromatic shades of reds and oranges paired with the light soft aqua. I've always been fond of variations of this scheme for summer weddings. I think this take would be wonderful for an urban summer wedding in a red brick loft venue. Here are some details I would include:

Silk Chiffon Twist-Tank Dress in Marigold from J Crew on sale for $119.

Together Forever Wedding Invitations in Rich Red from Wedding Paper Divas, 50 for $112.

Custom Boutonniere by Myra Kim for $13 a piece.

Esty Art Inspired Pallet One - Woodland Winter Wonderland

For the first in our line of etsy art inspired pallets, I found this beautiful deer screen print by Meobrien and though the colors would be so fresh for a winter woodland wedding. I love the shades of cool silver grays and pairing it with persimmon and mustard is such a lovely compliment. Paired with soft fabrics and whimsical details this could be so beautiful for a January or February wedding. Here are some things I would pair with it:

Charmed Life dress in dark gray from Anthropologie for $168.

Babette Jeweled-Feather Peeptoe Flats from J Crew for $315.

Kissing Deer cottage style cake topper by GigiMinor for $25.

I'm Back!

Hi all!

I'm back and ready to blog again! I hope you all stuck with me through the hiatus. I needed some time to finish my final and now I'm starting on my thesis (how exciting!). I am starting on a new line of art inspired color pallets and I'm working on some real wedding's as well. Expect some of those to roll around soon.

Here is a little sampling of the Boutique Hotel I just finished for my final. Here are just a few pages from it to give you an idea of what the project was like. I love how it turned out.

So more posts coming soon!

Saturday Pallet

Hey all.

No pretty pictures to share today, but I wanted to tell you all about my Saturday edition of "Lu Lu Belle" from here on out. On Saturday mornings I'm going to feature a new color pallet. Really that's it. Pretty simple. I love color. My dad worked for Sherwin Williams for 13 years (as well as ICI, Glidden and other paint companies) so for as long as I can remember I've been playing with color swatches and fan decks. I guess that's how I ended up in Interior Design.

I've got a few fall pallets in the work at the moment so next week I'll feature my first one. I hope some of you find one that helps give you a starting point. Have a great weekend everyone. See you Monday!

Real Wedding Inspiration & Preview

I'm so excited for this guys! I have a few beautiful real weddings lined up. One bride I'm familiar with from other wedding blogs and forums contacted me and asked if I could put together an inspiration board for her winter wedding.

I'm so in love with Hilary's chic interpretation of a winter pallet. She combined Christmas Red with pink, platinum, and brown. Hilary and James' wedding will be in Dayton, Ohio this December. She also has a San Patrick dress and invitations by Uglykitty (What a coincidence! So do I!). Her photographer is Faye Sommer out of Dayton, Ohio who also took their engagement photos (isn't that photo beautiful?). I can't wait to see how her pictures turn out. I'm sure the day will be beautiful.

So stay tuned! I'll compare the original inspiration board with the wedding details. This wedding will be coming this winter.

The inspiration is pulled from all over. She really loved elements of this board from Snippet & Ink as well as Vintage Glam's bridal style. The invitations pictured are their actual invites and were inspired by a pattern on her front porch!

Fall Color Pallet

Sometimes I find inspiration in the strangest places (later today I'll show you where this pallet came from). I'm always looking for alternatives to more traditional fall wedding color pallets. This is my new favorite. It's so soft and still very modern. The wine is beautifully balanced by the soft cornflower blue, gray and oatmeal. I think blue thistle would be a perfect with these Jim Hjelm bridesmaid dresses and ivory roses.
